Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 14, 2008) - John Brown University will once again welcome a large crowd for its annual family weekend Friday, Feb. 22 through Saturday, Feb. 23. Over 500 people are expected to attend this year’s event held on JBU’s main campus. The weekend will give families of current students a chance to enjoy campus activities, and get to know the JBU community a little better. Activities will kick off on Friday with a special chapel featuring JBU president, Dr. Charles Pollard. That day, parents will be able to sit in on regular JBU classes and have lunch with professors. Saturday morning provides an opportunity to see a musical performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Ruddigore,” a cooperative performance between JBU students, faculty and staff and Sager Creek Arts Center. Saturday afternoon brings the chance to watch the Golden Eagles women’s and men’s basketball team take on Northwestern Oklahoma State at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively. The fun-filled weekend caps off on Saturday night with a yearly tradition, the student talent and variety show. Performances are at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Due to the popularity of the shows, tickets are required and can be purchased on campus for $1 each.
