Alva, Okla. (January 17, 2008) - After only being down 27-26 at halftime, the John Brown University Lady Golden Eagles looked headed for a battle on the road Thursday night. But a turnover laden second half cost JBU down the stretch as they fell 67-58 to Northwestern Okla. State at Percefull Fieldhouse. The loss drops the ladies to 6-10 overall and 1-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Ashley Taylor and Micaela Cully led JBU in the losing effort with 20 and 19 points respectively. Taylor also grabbed nine boards. Leading scorer for the game was Northwestern’s D’Shanna Butler with 22 points. For the game, John Brown committed 20 turnovers while only forcing nine from Northwestern. Northwestern used this to their advantaged by scoring 19 points off of JBU’s turnovers.
JBU remains on the road this upcoming Saturday when they travel to Oklahoma City to take on Oklahoma Christian at 6 p.m.
