Golden Eagles Outgunned at Home
Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 17, 2007) — John Brown fell short at home on Saturday afternoon conceding a 69-66 loss to Bacone (Okla.). The loss snaps John Brown’s five-game winning streak. JBU drops to 5-1 on the year.
John Brown shot 45% overall but struggled from beyond the arc hitting only 34% (5-21). Leading scorer for the Golden Eagles was senior post man Joel Tesis with 17 points and eight boards. Cody Page, whose three-point attempt to tie the game fell short as time expired, finished with 15.
Ronnie Battle had a game high 21 points for Bacone, who shot 46% as a team for the game.
Both teams were evenly matched throughout the contest. Each committed 18 turnovers and collected 32 rebounds. Bacone went 7-11 from the charity stripe, while JBU shot 7-10.
The Golden Eagles won’t have time to dwell on the loss. They’ll be back in action on Monday when the travel to Park (Mo.) for a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. Park is 5-4 overall.
