Women's Basketball Falls on the Road
Ft. Worth, Texas (November 5, 2007) — John Brown women’s basketball dropped to 1-1 after falling 49-59 on the road to Texas Wesleyan.
John Brown got down by as many as 15 (48-33) in the second half but cut it down to 56-49 with less than two minutes remaining in the game. However, Texas Wesleyan managed to hold on for the win.
Turnovers hurt the Lady Golden Eagles as the Lady Rams scored 20 points off of 23 JBU turnovers. John Brown also struggled from the charity stripe shooting 36% (9-25) for the game.
Ashley Taylor and Micaela Cully both scored 12 points for JBU in the loss. Freshman Staffica Bain had eight points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots.
Moneke Small led TWU with 16 points and eight boards.
John Brown remains on the road this upcoming weekend when they travel to Branson, Mo. to participate in the College of the Ozarks Classic. The women face Lindenwood (Mo.) on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and William Jewell (Mo.) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
