Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 3, 2007) - After a tough five game match against Oklahoma City on Friday night, the women’s volleyball team was back in action on Saturday to face another hard-hitting opponent in Texas Wesleyan. TWU proved too much for JBU and walked away with the 3-1 win. Freshman Kirsten Lee recorded 14 kills, while Britney Kerns had 18 assists. Shannon Proctor led the defense with 15 digs. And Alyssa Hanson, Amber Wilson, and Christi Newton each had five blocks. Aubrey Junker and Heather Thornton also contributed with three aces apiece. John Brown fell behind 2-0 losing the first two games 22-30, 24-30. However, they managed to claw their way back into the match after jumping out to a huge lead in game three. TWU made a run late in the game, but JBU closed it out with the 30-25 win. In the fourth, John Brown lost momentum and let TWU set the pace and take the 30-21 win to close out the match. John Brown falls to 13-18 overall and closes out the regular season on the road against Mid-America Christian (Okla.) on Monday at 7 p.m.
