Women Win SAC Regular Season Title
Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 20, 2007) — John Brown University women’s soccer claimed the Sooner Athletic Conference women’s regular-season championship on Saturday after defeating Oklahoma City on the road. John Brown, ranked 25th in the NAIA, improved to 12-3, 8-0. No. 19 Oklahoma City fell to 14-3, 6-2.
Senior Alison Boster scored on a penalty kick in the 20th minute to give John Brown the advantage. OCU had two opportunities to tie the match in the 88th minute but were unable to convert.
JBU’s keeper Natalie Wall had a busy day earning the shutout after collecting 11 saves on OCU’s 18 shots.
JBU closes out the regular season against Oklahoma Baptist at 1 p.m. Tuesday at home.
