Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 6, 2007) - Both teams played a tough hard-fought match, but in the end a foul in the last minute allowed Oklahoma Christian to walk away with a 3-2 win over John Brown on Saturday afternoon. Oklahoma Christian’s Adam Barnes scored the only first half goal in the 19th minute unassisted. Then in the 54th minute Nick Robbins found Adrian Jasso slashing across the right side of the box for the equalizer. Less than nine minutes later, Vinicius Morais picked up the rebound after an Akeem Grant's blocked shot and put it away for JBU’s second goal of the match.
Oklahoma Christian rallied back to tie the match in the 75th minute after Jason Frei found Tyler Brady inside the box for a header shot past JBU keeper Spencer Watson. Both teams clamped down on defense with hopes of heading into overtime until JBU committed a foul inside the box with 45 seconds remaining in the match. This would give OC’s Cristian Fernandes a penalty kick attempt, which he put past Watson for the win. John Brown (3-6, 0-2) returns to action at home against St. Gregory’s (Okla.) on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m.
