Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 19, 2007) - After being beaten for four consecutive years in Murray Sells Gymnasium, Oklahoma Baptist decided not to make it a fifth defeating John Brown 78-71 on Monday night.
Both teams entered the half tied at 33, but in the end it was Oklahoma Baptist that came out on top. Julius Hurd scored 25 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the win for OBU, and Adam Workman led JBU with 26 including six treys from downtown.
John Brown (16-12, 7-9) led for most of the second half, but an intentional foul late in the game gave OBU the boost it needed to secure the victory.
John Brown shot 44 percent (23-52) for the contest, but the Bison managed to make 53 percent of their shots (27-51). The Bison also won the rebounding battle 39-22.
John Brown has two regular season games remaining. They travel to Oklahoma City on Thursday and return home to face St. Gregory’s (Okla.) at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
