Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 10, 2007) - Men’s basketball completed their west Texas trip with a 76-70 victory over Wayland Baptist on Saturday afternoon. Adam Workman had 24 and Joel Tesis followed up his career high 28 point game performance against Lubbock Christian on Thursday night with 20 points and nine rebounds.
Wayland Baptist (10-14, 4-10) was led in scoring by Kendall Webb who finished with a game high 25.
John Brown (15-10, 6-7) took a seven point lead into the break and was able to hold on for the six point win after shooting 54 percent for the game. Wayland, however, only shot 40 percent including a dismal 27 percent (6-22) from downtown.
Wayland controlled the boards winning 38-27, but failed to take care of the ball committing 20 turnovers for the game.
JBU will return to action when the travel to Oklahoma City to face Oklahoma Christian on Thursday at 8 p.m. Earlier in the season, John Brown cruised to a 79-72 win over OC at home.
