Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 8, 2007) - John Brown men’s basketball team was firing on all cylinders Thursday night as they came away with a 79-62 victory over the 15th ranked Chaps of Lubbock Christian (Tex.) at Rip Griffin Center.
Joel Tesis led the Golden Eagle attack with 28 points and 10 rebounds on nearly a perfect shooting night. Tesis, who went 10-for-10 from floor and 8-9 from the charity stripe, paced a Golden Eagle team that shot 57 % including 44 % from three-point range. JBU also managed to shoot 91 % from the free-throw line (20-22).
Three other JBU players reached double figures in the game. Adam Workman had 16, Wes Brown 13, and Cody Page 10.
Lubbock Christian (13-9, 6-6) was led in scoring by Marques Baldwin who had 17.
The win moves John Brown up to the sixth spot in the Sooner Conference standings with an overall record of 14-10 and 5-7 in the SAC. John Brown will look improve on this record when the travel to Plainview, Tex. on Saturday to take on Wayland Baptist at 3 p.m.
