Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 1, 2007) - The John Brown University women’s basketball team picked up the 56-50 win Thursday night as they faced Northwestern Okla. State on the road. Three JBU players reached double figures. Nancy Pierre, Amber Vogts, and Paige Blackburn each scored 10 points, and Jordyn West followed close behind with nine points and seven rebounds.
The women took a four point deficit into the locker rooms, but unlike previous games came out shooting lights out during the second half. They shot 52 percent for the half including 9-of-11 from 3-point range. Meanwhile, Northwestern (4-15, 2-8) only shot 36 percent for the game. The win snaps a JBU five game losing streak.
John Brown (6-14, 3-6) returns home this Saturday to host Science and Arts of Okla. at 6 p.m.
