The John Adams Quartet Performing at JBU
Siloam Springs, Ark (September 8, 1999) — The John Adams Quartet will be performing a concert at the Cathedral of the Ozarks on the campus of John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR on Thursday September 16, at 7:30 p.m.
The John Adams Quartet has a new jazz recording, "Fly by Night," that is being released throughout the region. The CD was recorded live in March of this year and is being heralded as one of the finest jazz recordings done in the Southwest.
Critics note that the jazz quartet has an astonishing musical rapport. Their complex musical texture always conveys a strong sense of melody and rhythm that captivates the sophisticated jazz listener as well as the novice. They perform an array of original compositions plus arrangements of standard favorites and selections by legendary jazz composers. Their talented playing has made them one of the most powerful acoustic-jazz groups to emerge in this region. They have performed at festivals and colleges throughout Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
The concert is free and open to the community. For more information on the concert, contact the Music Coordinator’s office at John Brown University at 479-524-7265.
