Women Fall to Lady Pipers

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 21, 2006) — The John Brown University Lady Golden Eagles traveled to Batesville, Ark. to take on Lyon on Tuesday night, but came up empty falling 52-56. Tara Stephenson led John Brown with 18 points and 5 rebounds, and Nancy Pierre pitched in 12 points and 10 boards in the losing effort.

Lyon (3-4) took a 26-20 lead into the locker rooms, and was able to fight off several JBU attempts to regain the lead in the second half. Former Farmington High School standout, April Carter, led Lyon with 15 points on 4-of-13 shooting, and although the Lady Pipers only shot 38% for the game, they were able to hold John Brown to 33%.

John Brown (2-6) did however, out rebound the Lady Pipers 38-32, but the major difference came on the defensive end where Lyon was able to force John Brown to commit 24 turnovers to their 18.

John Brown’s next match will take place at home on Tuesday Nov. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
