MEN’S SOCCER LOSES CLOSE ROAD MATCH TO PARK

Siloam Springs, Ark. (September 2, 2006) — The John Brown Golden Eagles fell to 1-1-0 on the season with a 0-1 loss to Park (Mo.) on Saturday.

Both teams held each other scoreless until the 86th minute of action when Park senior, Paul McLaughlin, scored on a breakaway goal assisted by freshman Adam Tayani.

Head Coach Bob Gustavson commented, “This was a hard fought physical game, with both teams really going after it, but we couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.”

JBU had two breakaway opportunities in the last ten minutes of the match but were unable to convert.

Sophomore goalkeeper Spencer Watson made five saves for the Golden Eagles.
