Siloam Springs, Ark (November 18, 1999) - The John Brown University Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) will hold the 9th annual World Trade Expo on Dec. 2, 1999 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harvey and Bernice Jones Center in Springdale.
The theme of this year’s world trade expo will be "Global Marketing in Consumer Product Industry." The expo will feature the projects of about ten middle school student SIFE teams plus products from all around the world. There will also be a Global Marketing seminar from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Jones Center.
Speakers Tom Verdery (Proctor & Gamble) , Julio Echegoyen (Proctor & Gamble), Hector Sanabria (SC Johnson) and Roger Paraatte (Tyson) will participate in the event.
"The World Trade Expo is a unique opportunity for middle school students to actively participate in the free enterprise system," said Bob Marion, JBU Business Division Professor and SIFE faculty advisor.
Students in Free Enterprise is a nonprofit organization that gives students the tools to learn about the free enterprise system in a real working situation. SIFE challenges students on more than 700 college campuses worldwide to take what they’re learning in the classroom and use their knowledge to better their communities.
Admission is free and open to the community.
