Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 16, 2006) - The Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics and John Brown University will host its annual Leadership Week the week of Feb. 20-24. The week’s events include special chapels on Tuesday and Thursday with guest speakers Dennis Bakke and Susan Barrett. Bakke is a graduate of the Harvard Business School. He is the co-founder of the multi-billion dollar AES Corporation, and is the author of a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-seller, Joy at Work: A Revolutionary Approach to Fun on the Job. Barrett is the CEO of Mercy Health Systems of Northwest Arkansas, Inc. She is an advisory board member for the SCLE and has served on various committees including the Arkansas Tobacco Settlement Commission in 2004 and the Arkansas Perinatal Advisory Board in 2002. Bakke will speak in chapel on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and will also speak at a luncheon in the Soderquist Business Center for SCLE northwest Arkansas customers following chapel. He will also speak to a group of undergraduate students at 1:30 p.m. in the business center. Barrett will speak at chapel on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Students and faculty are invited to join her, and her husband Rex Barrett, afterward at 11:30 a.m. for a luncheon in the SBC. Rex will share a little bit of his story and Susan will talk to a group of undergraduate students at 1:30 p.m. in the business center.
