Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 12, 2006) - The 3rd-ranked Oklahoma City Stars dominated every aspect of their 74-35 home victory over John Brown Saturday. Mariam Sy scored 16 points and retrieved 10 rebounds, and Chelsea Ledbetter and Mikelle Brown each added 10 points. Jordyn West and Ashley Wettengel led John Brown (16-9, 8-5 SAC) with 7 points apiece.
The Golden Eagles committed 25 turnovers in the game, which the Stars (22-1, 13-0 SAC) cashed in for 27 points. The home team also held the advantage in rebounding, 38-24. John Brown shot just 31.8% from the field, while Oklahoma City hit nearly 46.6% of its attempts.
Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles still remain in fourth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference. They will host third-place Lubbock Christian Thursday at 6:00 with the opportunity to tie the Lady Chaps in the standings.
