GIFT GIVEN TO INDEPENDENT COLLEGE FUND ON JBU CAMPUS

Siloam Springs, Ark (September 10, 1997) - The Wal*Mart Foundation presented its 21st annual grant to the Independent College Fund of Arkansas (ICFA) on Wednesday, Aug 27. The presentation was made by Emerson Goodwin, director of the foundation, on the campus of John Brown University at Siloam Springs, Ark.

Accepting for the Independent College Fund were Dr. Lee Balzer, president of John Brown University; E. Kearney Dietz, president of the ICFA; and several JBU students who represent students on all ICFA campuses who will benefit from the generous Wal*Mart grant.

The ICFA, established in 1954 and headquartered in North Little Rock, has raised and distributed over $14 million to member colleges which include, in addition to JBU: Central Baptist College and Hendrix College, both at Conway; Harding University at Searcy; Lyon College at Batesville; Ouachita Baptist University at Arkadelphia; University of the Ozarks at Clarksville; and Williams Baptist College at Walnut Ridge.
