JBU Volleyball Splits Road Trip

Siloam Springs, Ark. (November 5, 2005) — The John Brown Golden Eagles won a match and lost a match on their road trip to Oklahoma and Texas this week. John Brown came back from a 2-0 deficit Thursday to defeat Southern Nazarene 3-2. On Saturday, the Golden Eagles lost 3-1 at Texas Wesleyan.

Against Southern Nazarene, John Brown dropped the first two games 24-30 and 23-30 before rallying to win the final three 30-28, 30-19, and 15-3. Tati Silva scored 22 kills and 2 aces and added 22 digs. Taylor Young and Samantha Rogoff each contributed 13 kills. Juliana Todescan made 54 assists and 32 digs to go along with 7 kills. Christine Wells had 31 digs.

Against Texas Wesleyan, the Golden Eagles fell behind early 2-0, losing 23-30 and 19-30. John Brown won the third game 30-20, but could not hold on in the fourth game, losing 25-30. Silva scored 17 kills, and Summer Cox added 11. Silva also contributed 23 digs, 2 aces, and 3 blocks, while Cox had 2 blocks. Juliana Todescan provided 46 assists and 9 digs.

John Brown (30-7, 6-2) will play next in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Nov. 12 in Lubbock, Texas.
