JBU Men Make Dramatic Comeback
Siloam Springs, Ark. (October 22, 2005) — The John Brown Golden Eagles won their second-straight Sooner Athletic Conference game Saturday, defeating Oklahoma Christian 3-2 in Edmond, Okla. The Golden Eagles trailed 2-0 at halftime after giving up goals in the 20th and 39th minutes. Their comeback began in the 54th minute when Rodrigo Juliao scored on a 25-yard free kick. Kyle Carter tied the game in the 61st minute with a shot assisted by Shawn Wierick, and Terry Andrew gave John Brown the lead in the 87th minute, assisted by Juliao and Daniel Fleming. Goalkeeper Glen Goodner made 3 saves in the first half for John Brown, and Spencer Watson made 5 after taking over for Goodner at halftime. The Golden Eagles are now 10-5-1 overall and 2-3 in the conference after starting 0-3.
John Brown travels to Shawnee, Okla. Tuesday to take on 9th-ranked Oklahoma Baptist.
