JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY TO BENEFIT FROM $478,800 ESTATE GIFT
Siloam Springs, Ark (October 11, 1996) - John Brown University is pleased to announce that it will receive $478,000 from the Faith Leissner Trust. The University has already received two distributions of $46,800 and $72,000 respectively over the past six months. The third and final distribution of approximately $360,000 will occur in the next 24 months.
Ms. Leissner learned about John Brown University through KGER, a prominent Christian radio station out of Long Beach, Calif., that JBU owned and operated for 40 years. KGER was one of many radio stations that broadcast founder John E. Brown Sr.'s regular morning programs. "Ms. Leissner epitomizes people who want their lives to continue on through the lives of Christian young people," said Dr. Alan Cureton, vice president for university advancement at JBU. "I cannot think of a better remembrance for someone who was dedicated to the ministry and work of John Brown University in the lives of thousands of young people over the years. The University will identify Ms. Leissner's gift with a very special recognition later in this academic year."
Ms. Leissner's gift is unrestricted.
