Siloam Springs, Ark. (January 22, 2005) - Making 14 three’s, the JBU men (13-5, 3-5 SAC) put on a shooting clinic to beat the USAO Drovers Saturday night. The Golden Eagles shot 53% from the field and held their opponent to 36% shooting to win the game 99-77.
The teams traded the lead for the first 10 minutes of the first half. JBU went up by as much as 11, but the Drovers cut the lead to 7 to end the half at 44-37. Seven would prove to be the closest USAO could get, as JBU pulled away in the second half, shooting close to 60% from the field and 44% from behind the arc.
Sophomore Adam Workman led the scoring with 21, making five treys. He was close to a double-double with nine rebounds. His teammate, senior Reyjavick De Gracia did have a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Alex Terry had 11 assists for the night to add to his already record breaking assist total. Leading scorers for the Drovers were Avery Stevenson and Wayne Gibson, both with 17.
The JBU men are on the road next week, starting with Oklahoma Baptist Monday night at 8:00. Their next home game is February 3rd at 8:00 when Wayland Baptist comes to town.
