JBU Hosts Annual Family Weekend Feb. 21-23
Siloam Springs, Ark (February 17, 2003) — John Brown University’s annual Family Weekend will be held February 21, 22, and 23, 2003. Parents and family members are invited to visit the students at JBU and join them for classes, meals, basketball games and the student talent and variety show.
Upon registration, family members will receive free tickets to the weekend’s men’s and women’s basketball games and the student talent and variety show. The talent and variety show has long been the highlight of Family Weekend with cash prizes of $200, $175 and $125 for the top three placing students in each of the talent and variety categories. The talent and variety show will take place Sat., Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Ozarks on the JBU campus.
Local vendors will also offer registered participants discounts during family weekend. Follet University Bookstore, The French Hen Fine Gifts and Antiques, Occasions Unique Gifts, Candy Bouquet, Side Street Café, City Bagel Café, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Taco Bell will all be offering 10% discounts to Family Weekend participants.
“Family Weekend is a great time for families and friends to participate in JBU, whether it is meeting faculty, attending classes or meeting Parents Council representatives. The weekend is a great time when we can come together as a community,” said Adriane Carr, Director of Alumni and Parent Relations.
