Jonesboro barber packs heat
(June 23, 2004) — (Jonesboro-AP) -- A Jonesboro barber has added another piece of steel to the tools of his trade - a .357 Magnum. Troy Hafford is packing at the store now because two days ago he was shot in both legs and pistol-whipped during an attempted robbery at Bill and Troy's Barber Shop. Hafford says he's fortunate that his legs are in good shape and won't have any problems with infections. He doesn't have a permit for his weapon, but police told him that after the shooting on Saturday he could keep the gun in the shop. Hafford said a "really young kid" shot him once in each leg with a 25-caliber pistol. He said he never had any trouble at the shop in 34 years and figures times must be changing in Jonesboro.
