Grand River Dam Authority wants image makeover
(June 22, 2004) - (Vinita-AP) -- New Grand River Dam Authority chief executive Kevin Easley says he wants the agency to change its approach toward projects. Easley says the dam authority used to be known for doing things, then needing to ask forgiveness for making people mad. The former state senator says that left GR-DA with a clear credibility issue with the public, and the agency's reputation needs repairing. Easley says he wants GRDA's new approach to involve asking permission, so people have a say in what the agency does. The first example of the new approach is the Easley's decision last week to withdraw an application to raise the level of Grand Lake. Residents near the lake had opposed the application, which was filed without their approval before Easley took over as head of GRDA.
