Siloam Springs, Ark (January 24, 2002) - Cherissa L. Dees has been appointed Interim Coordinator of Public Relations for John Brown University. Dees graduated Magna Cum Laude in December 2001 from JBU with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in New Testament Greek. From October 1998 to August 2001, Dees served as public relations assistant to the University Advancement Office. Throughout her four years at the university, Dees was also active on the student newspaper staff and worked as a photography assistant in Siloam Springs.
Her new responsibilities will include maintaining relationships with the local, regional and national media as well as overseeing news dissemination within the university community. “I’m excited to join the staff of this university and be a part of the new things that are happening at JBU,” Dees said. “It’s an honor to have the opportunity to use my education at JBU to directly serve the university and the community.”
Effective immediately, all news communications and University media coverage will be handled through Dees in the University Advancement Office.
John Brown University is a private university with an enrollment of more than 1,600 students from 46 states and 30 countries. JBU is a member of the Arkansas Independent Colleges and Universities and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
