JBU Volleyball Signs Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist
Siloam Springs, Ark (March 25, 2002) — Christine Wells, of Red Oak, Texas signed a letter of intent to play for John Brown University Women’s Volleyball. Wells, a 5’7” outside hitter and defense specialist, was a captain on the Red Oak High School varsity volleyball team during her senior season. Wells also played volleyball at the club level for five years for Dallas Summit and Mid Cities UBC.
Wells received the District defensive player of the year award as a senior, and was awarded the district server of the year award and junior All-State Hawaii Choice as a junior.
“Christine has solid fundamental skills and has a strong desire to play defense. With the addition of the libero to the collegiate game, Christine will provide immediate help to us. She has a tremendous amount of court time because of her five years of club ball and she has played for Red Oak High School, which is known for their volleyball excellence. We are very excited to have Christine join us beginning in the fall of 2002,” said coach Robyn Gordon.
Wells, a National Honor Society member, also served as president of her senior class and participated in student council.
Wells is the daughter of Carl and Terry Wells of Red Oak, Texas.
