(March 24, 2004) - (Little Rock-AP) -- Governor Huckabee says spending a week in Japan enabled him to solidify existing business relationships with Japanese companies and encourage more business in the state. The governor says it is good business to make an in-person visit because the personal attention helps build trust. Huckabee says the state has the inside track to win a 150 million dollar project that a Japanese company has in the works. The governor says the effort is helped by Wal-Mart, Tyson Foods and other Arkansas companies that were part of the delegation. Huckabee predicts an announcement in the coming weeks that will add hundreds of jobs to the state. The governor says more businesses will follow -- and he says Arkansas is putting itself in position to finally land a super project like an automobile plant.
