JBU Announces Tuition, Room and Board, and Fees Rates for 2014-15
3.42 percent increase represents the lowest price increase in more than 25 years
SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (February 18, 2014) - The John Brown University Board of Trustees announced tuition, room and board, and fees for the 2014-15 academic year. The new combined price for undergraduate tuition, room and board, and fees represents a 3.42 increase, the lowest percentage increase in 25 years.
Because of institutional support and new financial aid, JBU estimated the average actual impact of the increase on individual students would be about 2 percent, said Kimberly M. Hadley, Vice President for Finance and Administration. JBU awarded more than $13 million in scholarships for the 2013-14 academic year. The university is increasing the institutional student aid budget 3.5 percent in the 2014-15 academic year.
“JBU continues to be one of the best values in Christian higher education,” said Don Crandall, vice president for enrollment management. “Our price is lower than most of our peer institutions across the country. And U.S. News has ranked us the best value among all Southern colleges for the second year in a row.”
JBU’s Advancement team continues to increase the endowment and sustain annual fund giving. In total, JBU awarded 214 scholarships worth a combined $1.7 million annually from endowed scholarship funds, and we awarded another 565 scholarships worth a combined $12.4 million from the JBU Scholarship Fund and other institutional funds.
“We are blessed and deeply grateful to have many generous supporters who give joyfully to scholarship endowments and our annual fund,” said Dr. Jim Krall, Vice President for Advancement. “JBU has a long tradition of helping students with financial challenges attend college, and because of the strong support of our alumni and friends, that tradition continues today.”
