Fayetteville raid linked to Ft. Smith explosion
(February 25, 2004) — (Fort Smith-AP) -- It's unclear what federal agents were looking for when they searched a Fayetteville home as part of an investigation into an explosive device that wounded an elderly woman in Fort Smith. Investigators would not comment on what they were looking for - or found. But they did confirm the search was related to Monday's explosion that injured 72-year-old Dorothy Snyder. Snyder apparently found a suspicious package at the door of a vacant house she is taking care of and was taking it to a neighbor's home when it detonated. A friend says she is recovering from her injuries. Fort Smith police Sergeant Jarrard Copeland says federal agents searched the Fayetteville house Monday night.
