John Brown University Soccer Signs Jenks High School Athlete

Siloam Springs, Ark. (March 8, 2002) — Daniel Fleming, captain of the Jenks High School Soccer team, has signed a letter-of-intent to play soccer for John Brown University. In addition to his participation on his high school teams, Daniel played for the Tulsa Soccer Club that was the Oklahoma State Champion in 1999 and 2001. Coach Bob Gustavson, the JBU soccer coach says, “this experience will be a tremendous asset to Daniel as he moves to the collegiate level. Many graduating seniors do not have this breadth of playing experience. I am anxious to begin working with Daniel and expect he will play a key role for our team at the central midfield position.”

In addition to excelling on the soccer field, Daniel has also been a top student in the classroom. He is a member of the Oklahoma Honor Society, the Principal’s Honor Roll and received the PTA Academic Award. Daniel has been a student leader for his youth group at church and has been a leader on mission trips to Mexico and Costa Rica.

Daniel plans to major in engineering at John Brown University.. His parents are John and Angela Fleming of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
