JBU Soccer Signs Kris Fincher

Siloam Springs, Ark (March 26, 2002) — Kris Fincher of Sebring, Florida, signed a letter of intent to play soccer at John Brown University. As a high school senior, Fincher served as captain of his school team. During his junior and senior years, Fincher led the team in assists and was second in scoring. For the past two years, Fincher has played club soccer while attending Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Florida.

Coach Bob Gustavson of JBU said, "Besides being an excellent academic student, Kris is a skillful soccer player who possesses excellent field vision. He is able to make good decisions and deliver the ball at just the right time. Since he has served as captain of his high school team, I expect he will continue to display leadership skills here at John Brown University. We are expecting him to make an immediate contribution to our team."

Fincher graduated with honors from Sebring High School in Sebring, Florida where he earned the Principal's Scholar Athlete Award and the Athletic Scholar Award. Since then, Fincher has earned a 3.5 overall G.P.A. at Tallahassee Community College.

Fincher is the son of Kenneth and Bounleab Fincher of Sebring, Florida. He plans pursue a degree in construction management at JBU.
