SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. (March 19, 2013) — The John Brown University Cathedral Choir will conclude their spring tour with a concert on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Berry Performing Arts Center on the campus of JBU.  The concert is free and open to the public.

The choir is spending spring break touring through New Mexico, Colorado and Kansas.

The Cathedral Choir, comprised of 52 talented students from John Brown University, will perform pieces ranging from the 18th century to newly composed choral compositions. The audience will hear many different styles of music including Mendelsohn’s eight part acapella work “Ehre Sei Gott,” a highly popular composition by Z. Randall Stroope and a foot tapping spiritual, “I Can Tell The World,” by Moses Hogan. Professor Paul Smith, the longtime conductor of the Cathedral Choir, returns to the podium after a year of sabbatical and is refreshed and excited to once again present this very special concert to all lovers of choral music.

The choir has toured extensively all over the United States and in Northern Ireland. In addition to annual tours, the choir is featured in the annual Candlelight Service at JBU each December.

In 2011 the Cathedral Choir recorded a CD in Belfast, Northern Ireland, at the famed St. Mark’s Cathedral, home church of C. S. Lewis. The CD will be on sale at the concert.
