Siloam Springs, Ark. (February 23, 2002) - The John Brown University men’s basketball team pulled off the 68-64 win at St. Gregory’s University on Saturday afternoon in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
The Golden Eagles led by one point at the break 29-28. After a run midway through the second half JBU pulled ahead by as many as 9 points. A 3-pointer by senior Chris Cameron and solid defense down the stretch iced the win for the Golden Eagles.
JBU was lead by Jahir Mejia with 17 points. Nathan Law and Simeon Hinsey added 12 apiece and Chris Cameron reached double figures with 10. Reyjavick De Gracia also came up big off the bench with 9 points and 7 rebounds. Brad Evans led SGU with 18 points. JBU is now 18-12 and 8-10 on the season. The Golden Eagles will get a chance to avenge Thursday’s defeat to SNU in the first round of the SAC tournament in Lubbock, Texas on Thursday.
