To honor Sam and Helen Walton, the JBU Walton Alumni Association has agreed to purchase and install a sculpture “Angel of Vision” at JBU.

The 31-year-old Walton Scholar program, begun by Sam and Helen Walton has brought 474 students from Mexico and Central America to study at JBU.

The sculpture will be located at the north end of the central sidewalk promenade, between the WLHC and the Walker Student Center. The accompanying plaque will read, “’An angel can illuminate the thought and mind of a man by strengthening the power of vision,’ said by Saint Thomas Aquinas. In gratitude to Sam and Helen Walton from the Walton Alumni Association.”

The Walton Alumni Association sees the sculpture as a chance to give back to the university as well as honor the Waltons and the scholarship program’s profound influence on the lives of participating students.

If you are interested in giving to the project, visit www.jbu.edu/giveonline and select “Walton Angel Statue Project” from the menu. Or you can call Susan Nece at 1-479-524-7492.
