JBU Announcements

The Siloam Springs JBU campus will be open and classes will be held at their regularly scheduled times on Monday, Feb. 13. The standard inclement weather policy (as outlined in the Faculty Handbook -- see excerpt below) is in effect. The University encourages faculty, staff and off-campus students to exercise caution when traveling in winter weather conditions.

Faculty teaching in the Graduate and Degree Completion Programs should contact their appropriate program offices regarding their inclement weather policy. Graduate and degree completion students are encouraged to check Blackboard for announcements related to inclement weather.

Faculty should contact the following individuals with questions regarding inclement weather decisions:

Faculty Handbook Sec. V.D.7

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Because JBU is a residential campus, classes rarely close due to inclement weather, even on days when local schools may be closed. However, in extreme cases weather conditions may prevent professors from traveling to campus. If this occurs, professors should contact their division chair or a colleague so that a notice can be posted in their classrooms. Furthermore, professors should make reasonable accommodations for those students who may have difficulty commuting from off-campus locations.

Faculty teaching in the Advance Program or the Graduate Program are requested to contact the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies regarding their inclement weather policy.
