What Can I Expect?
B.A. degree with emphasis in piano:
- Complete Music Department audition process and be admitted into the degree program
- Participate in an ensemble each semester
- Attend various recitals on and off campus
- Present a half recital during the junior year, and a full recital during the senior year
- Complete music courses including:
- 8 semesters of private piano lessons
- 4 semesters of music theory
- 3 semesters of musicianship (ear training)
- 3 semesters of music history and literature
- Piano specific related courses (piano literature, piano pedagogy, functional keyboard skills, accompanying class).
- Complete the University Core curriculum (various courses in the liberal arts, Biblical studies, math and sciences, etc…)
