Though he’s spent a lot of time around the liberal arts, he grew up around engineers and architects. His father is a licensed architect, and James worked for him as an assistant draftsman working on construction drawings. He has also enjoys learning how things work, and has been known to disassemble electronics, appliances, and small engines to see how they work. His brother is currently studying civil engineering, and James also roomed with an engineer and a construction management major while he attended JBU. Those relationships and interests encouraged him to pursue his current position as an Admissions Counselor for prospective Engineering, Construction Management, and Renewable Energy majors. He enjoys being a part of connecting prospective students to the professional degrees available in the division. James is originally from Arizona and is excited to be back at JBU and a part of the work God is doing through JBU. In his free time he enjoys photography, hiking, reading, spending time with friends, and always enjoys a good book with a cup of tea.

Administrative Assistant, Division of Engineering & Construction Management

Heidi is originally from New York but has lived in Arkansas since she was 17 years old. Heidi, her husband Kevin and their three sons moved to Siloam Springs in 2008. Heidi was hired by JBU as a Captionist for hearing-impaired students in the fall of 2010. God soon opened the door for her to work in the Engineering & Construction Management Departments. She feels so blessed to be able to call JBU her “home away from home” and loves working with the students. Her family has also enjoyed being a friendship family for three international JBU students, as well as a host family for a foreign exchange high school student from the Czech Republic. They have been blessed with the addition of a daughter-in-law and one granddaughter to their family. Her hobbies are gardening, crocheting and spending time with family - especially her new granddaughter! Ask Heidi what’s one thing she would do differently if she could live life over again and she would tell you that she wishes she could have gone to college at JBU.
