FAQs
Friday, August 21 - Tuesday, August 25
Do I have to attend Orientation? YES! Orientation is a great way for you to connect with people and transition into life at JBU!
Aren't ERP and Orientation the same?
Not at all! Orientation is your transition into JBU right before classes begin and it’s mandatory! Orientation is filled with games, laughter and lots of information to make your years at JBU successful; plus you will meet other incoming students! ERP stands for Early Registration Program and is a great opportunity to register early for classes, find a potential roommate and meet others. ERP is June 12-13 and you can find more information here: www.jbu.edu/erp
Do you have a special orientation for Internationals and Missionary Kids (MKs)?
Yes! Our International Office has a full international and MK orientation just for you. It is August 20-21 and then you will join us! Contact Erin Rowe at erowe@jbu.edu or 479.524.7108 for more information.
Do transfers need to attend Orientation? Yes! We want all new students to participate in Orientation. Transfers will be in Orientation groups together led by current transfers and upperclassmen. This is a great time to meet other transfers and make connections with classmates from your Gateway class. This is a chance for you to get connected to the people and places that make JBU great!
Can I come early?
Thanks for asking, but unless you have an unusual circumstance, the answer is no. The staff is busily preparing for new students and won't be ready for you until Friday, August 21 after 5:30 pm.
Do parents need to come to orientation?
Parents are always welcome! We have a special day of helpful events for them on Saturday, August 22. See the Schedule (PDF). However, it's not necessary that parents attend orientation.
