To equip students with the theory and practice of ethical leadership in order to produce dynamic, effective leaders for the Kingdom.

Who We Are

The Leader Scholars Institute at John Brown University is an interdisciplinary community of leader scholars committed to the academic and applied study of leadership. The program will support Leadership Scholarship recipients and we welcome any student to join the program by application.

Program Distinctives

The LSI emphasizes the study of leadership in theory and through practice. The distinctives of the program include:

• Interdisciplinary core leadership course
• Classroom, practicum, and hands-on learning experiences
• Theoretical and applied learning opportunities

Educational Outcomes

LSI students will...

• Be introduced to the history and theory of the discipline
• See themselves as leaders and reflect on their own strengths and weaknesses as practitioners of leadership
• Analyze current leadership theory and practice through the lens of Christian faith
• Practice the skills and habits of effective leadership
• Apply leadership skills and competencies as part of a sustained experience
