Women's Ministry

Women’s Ministry Vision:
To nurture relationships among women in a way that unites God’s church and points people to Christ.

It seeks to do this through several different avenues.

The Core Team
The Women’s Ministry Core Team meets together once a week to pray for the women of campus, each other, and brainstorm ways to make a difference in the lives of the women of JBU. The main focus of the group is prayer, and they would love to pray and pass prayer requests on to the group at any time.

Women's Fellowship
Women's Fellowship is a ministry designed to bring the women of JBU together via various events held throughout the year. Events this year will include the BBBQ (balloons and bbq), The Clothes Swap, Christmas Party, and the Black and White No Tie Affair. Other events are pending.

The Bridge
The Bridge is a program that matches freshman with returning students. Returning students volunteered to contact a freshman (who also volunteered by giving their contact information via e-mail) once over the summer, pray for them during the summer and throughout the year, and contact their freshman at least once early in the school year. From there, the relationship is up to the two individuals!

Women’s Retreat
The Women’s Retreat is a special time for the women on campus to get together, have fun, hear good speaking, and rest! Women's Retreat happens each February at a retreat center nearby.

At The Well
This ministry is designed to raise awareness about women’s sexuality and provide a safe place for women to discuss sexual issues intellectually, personally, and biblically. At The Well meets once a month in a large group format for open discussion about women’s sexuality led by guest speakers.

Mentoring Relationships
Any female student desiring one-on-one spiritual and relational mentoring should contact Tracy Balzer, Director of Christian Formation at tbalzer@jbu.edu. She is willing to assist in finding an appropriate mentor for students.
