KLRC Director of Donor Relations and Marketing

 

Position summary

 

The KLRC Director of Donor Relations and Marketing will be responsible for growing annual listener and corporate support by cultivating outstanding relationships with existing and future supporters and managing donor relations strategies.  Will also oversee marketing efforts to proactively build brand awareness and engagement and ensure that KLRC’s messaging is consistent, compelling, and effective, and that it represents the ministry’s mission and core values.

Position Responsibilities

 

  - Development Position Responsibilities (60%)

  • Develop and execute a development strategy with the General Manager to reach annual campaign goals and complete the funding for the 90.9FM signal expansion project (short term).
  • Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with existing and potential individual, foundation, and corporate sponsors in collaboration with the General Manager to significantly expand the station’s base of support (long term).
  • Design and implement a long-term plan for philanthropic development.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships within the vendor community to help form strategic partnerships for existing and new community outreaches.
  • Develop and implement special events to educate and cultivate prospects and existing donors

 -  Marketing Position responsibilities (40%)

 

  • Oversee and coordinate all marketing activity to proactively build brand awareness and engagement for KLRC.
  • Create positive working relationships with key journalists as well as be responsible for developing media strategies and a broad array of communications tactics that successfully engage the press and the public regarding KLRC’s mission, core values, and brand.
  • Makes strategic and tactical use of both offline and online media to promote KLRC and its mission.  Assist in creating marketing materials including brochures, print and digital advertising, direct mailers and hand distribution materials.
  • Represent KLRC at events and activities that will raise the station’s visibility.
  • Work with other departments to maximize marketing opportunities for the organization.

 

 

 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills for the purpose of crafting effective messages that resonate with and motivate donor and supporter audiences.
  • Servant-Leader heart with strong relational skills and the ability to establish long-lasting relationships with listeners/donors.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work well both independently and as an active collaborator and team player.
  • Discretion and commitment to maintain confidentiality.

 

 

 

Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous fundraising or marketing experience required.

  • No direct reports.

  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
