Nursing Faculty

John Brown University is seeking a full-time faculty member for its nursing program to begin August 1, 2017.   JBU is seeking an outstanding applicant who is visionary, innovative, and passionate about teaching.  The Department of Nursing is seeking a balanced educational team in order to enrich and augment students’ nursing education. Faculty in a variety of specialties will be considered.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching undergraduate nursing classes (including clinical), advising, and committee assignments.


The Nursing program is part of the College of Education and Human Services and is housed in a new 21,000 sq.ft. facility. The nursing program is approved by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing and recently received accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission. At present, the program is a traditional undergraduate program of study using a concept-based approach to curricula. 


An earned doctorate is preferred; MSN in nursing required.  Applicants must show evidence of scholarly potential, have effective teaching experience in higher education, and a commitment to Christian higher education.  Must hold (or be eligible for) an unencumbered license in the state of Arkansas.  Visionary leadership skills are essential.


A competitive salary exists which will be commensurate with education and/or experience.
