John Brown University seeks a full-time faculty member to teach in the Donald G. Soderquist College of Business beginning July 1, 2014. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching and advising in the graduate and undergraduate business programs, and providing leadership of international curriculum including design and deployment of graduate-level international studies programs; may include international travel. Limited domestic travel is required as many graduate courses are taught at University and corporate locations within the region. This individual will be considered for one of the Soderquist Endowed Chairs. The position reports to the Associate Dean of the Donald G. Soderquist College of Business.
The Donald G. Soderquist College of Business offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in various formats. The Undergraduate Department of Business offers degrees (BS and BA) on the Siloam Springs campus in Accounting, Business Administration, International Business, Management, and Marketing. The undergraduate Degree Completion Program offers BS degrees in Organizational Management and in Business Administration. Graduate degrees include the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Leadership and Ethics (MS-LE), and the Master of Science in Higher Education Leadership (MS-LHE). MBA emphases include Leadership and Ethics, International Business, and Global Continuous Improvement. Delivery of degree completion and graduate programs is both on-site at locations in Arkansas and online. Collectively, the College of Business has the largest number of students at JBU with continuing growth in enrollment and diversity. Training leaders with integrity, character, and trustworthiness based on a Christ-centered model is a priority. All business programs of the Soderquist College are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
A relevant earned doctorate with 5-10 years industry experience (including travel) is strongly preferred; minimum of a masters degree is required. Experience in curriculum development is desirable. Effective teaching experience in higher education and in distance learning is necessary. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in multiple disciplines and in online delivery, and who embrace contemporary, outcomes-oriented approaches to learning. Evidence of scholarly potential and a commitment to Christian higher education are essential.
