Jeff Huntington is the Manager of Vendor Audit and Relations at ABF Freight System, Inc. He has also worked in public accounting with Ernst & Young LLP, and he served as a VP with Peoples Bank & Trust. While at ABF, he has handled corporate accounting, internal audit and he currently develops and manages analytical tools and costing analysis for his department, which is one of the largest cost centers for the company.
Jeff began his teaching career at JBU in 2001 as an adjunct instructor for the Organizational Management bachelor's degree program. He then began teaching MBA courses in 2007. As an instructor, Mr. Huntington believes that the classroom should resemble the workplace; therefore, he uses real-life examples to support the subject at hand and encourages students to interject with their own experiences. As an adult student who worked full-time while completing both his undergraduate and graduate degrees, he understands time constraints and limitations that students may have due to work and past experiences.
As a math, accounting and finance instructor, Jeff understands that those are subjects that not all students understand and enjoy; therefore, he does what he can to help them understand and succeed which brings value to their lives and his own. He especially enjoys hearing when students comment that they have found a way to make a course relevant to their situations.
Mr. Huntington says he teaches for JBU because he enjoys working with individuals who are seeking knowledge and advancement in their own lives. Being involved in this process is rewarding to him.
When not at work or in the classroom, Jeff enjoys training retrievers for the field.
