In 1996, Dr. Bill Burnett became the first self-supported Fellowship of Christian Athletes field staff person in the US and has been the Director of the NWA Fellowship of Christian Athletes since that time.   He has also been in private practice counseling and supervision for nearly 20 years and helped start a Pregnancy Help Center in Fort Smith.  For six years, he and his wife produced a daily radio program on family life and personal life issues and in 1994, he began teaching as an adjunct professor at JBU.

Dr. Burnett's involvement in various businesses, non-profit organizations, city government and ministry arenas has given him a broad perspective on life.  He enjoys sharing his perspective as well as interacting with students who are engaged in the business and professional world and helping them make an impact that is far beyond just making a living.

In addition to teaching for JBU, Dr. Burnett has taught several classes at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers.  He also has a license in both professional counseling and marriage and family therapy, he is a certified supervisor for the state of Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling, and he is a member of the Arkansas Sports and University of Arkansas Halls of Fame
