Dates For Oral Presentations

  • may be submitted November 1, 2015 through February 1, 2016
  • extension requests cannot be granted
  • presentations will be given on Saturday morning, April 9th, 2016

Disqualification

  • abstracts which indicate the identity of either the writer or institution will be disqualified 

Abstract Must

  • be no more than 250 words
  • be formatted in readable fashion
  • be viewed, approved and taken as evidence by the students' honors director that the university student is full-time and in good standing with their university and honors program before submitting to the host institution

Oral Presentations Must

  • be submitted through Oral Submission Form located at the end of this page
  • be submitted by the honors director of the nominating institution

Abstract Judging

  • takes place the week of February 13, 2016 by a committee of professors and students in the category that best matches their expertise
  • notification of approval by committee on February 22, 2016 will be sent to the student and honors director 

Presentation Locations Are

  • located in Walker Student Center, Soderquist Business Center, Art West and Balzer Technology Center 
  • found in the online program guide (for exact time and location, after April 1, 2016)

Participants Are

  • limited to strictly 10 minutes with an additional 5 minute question and answer time
  • to arrive at their session location prior to presentation time
  • to introduce themselves to the classroom moderator
  • to be prepared to upload their presentation to the computer in their assigned room prior to presentation time

Technology

  • each classroom has a podium computer, sound system, a projector with remote, and a document camera (modern overhead projector)
  • all computers have the latest Microsoft Office Suite
  • computer programs include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, One Note and Outlook

Submission

The abstract will serve as confirmation from the students' honors director that the university student is full-time and in good standing with their university and honors program. Oral presentation proposals may be submitted to John Brown University November 1, 2015 through February 1, 2016.

Extension requests cannot be granted.
