Erin Webb Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Current Endowed Scholarships
Donor: Jerry and Cindy Webb
Jerry and Cindy Webb created the Erin Webb Memorial Endowed Scholarship, under God’s leading, to turn heartbreaking loss into positive blessing by making a difference in the lives of JBU students. Their beloved daughter Erin, a former JBU student, was killed in a car accident in 1998. Her kindheartedness, charm, intelligence, quick wit, beauty and sense of humor endeared her to everyone she met. A scholarship seems a particularly appropriate way to honor her life and love for learning.
Erin’s connections to JBU have deep roots. Cindy and Jerry met at JBU and were married after graduating in 1968. Cindy’s mother, Madge Grove Schimpf, attended high school at the JBU Academy (1932-1936), graduated from John Brown University (1939), and was a professor of Home Economics there in the fifties. Cindy’s father, Stuart R. Schimpf, served as University Pastor and Bible professor from 1945 until 1962. All three of Cindy’s sisters, two aunts and two cousins also attended John Brown. Because of their years-long association, JBU means family.
