Academic: Competitive
Scholarship Event: February 10-11, 2013
Formal Invitation will be mailed to students who qualify for the Scholarship Event.
Admissions acceptance and scholarship application required.
Scholarship based on information received by Jan. 10.*
Apply for JBU's Competitive Scholarships.
Students may only be awarded one academic scholarship.
The following amounts are for the 2012-2013 school year.
**International Students are ineligible for Competitive Scholarships. See JBU's page for International Student Financial Aid for more information.
**Transfer Students are ineligible for Competitive Scholarships but are eligible to receive merit-based scholarships.
Presidential Scholarship ($22,000)
• ACT/SAT & GPA Criteria: ACT 29 (SAT 1280) – 3.9+ GPA
ACT 30/31 (SAT 1330-1390) – 3.7+ GPA
ACT 32/33 (SAT 1400-1480) – 3.6+ GPA
ACT 34+ (SAT 1490+) – 3.5+ GPA
• Yearly scholarships awarded: 5
• Must compete in Annual Scholarship Competition
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Strong Christian character
• Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA by end of freshman year
Chancellor's Scholarship ($11,000)
• ACT/SAT & GPA Criteria: ACT 29 (SAT 1280) – 3.7+ GPA
ACT 30/31 (SAT 1330-1390) – 3.5+ GPA
ACT 32/33 (SAT 1400-1480) – 3.4+ GPA
ACT 34+ (SAT 1490+) – 3.2+ GPA
• Yearly scholarships awarded: 45
• Must compete in Annual Scholarship Competition
• Demonstrated leadership ability
• Strong Christian character
• Renewal: 3.2 cumulative GPA by end of freshman year
Excellence in Engineering Award ($10,000)
• ACT or SAT min: ACT 27 (Math 25) / SAT 1210 (Math 620)
• Yearly scholarships awarded: 12
• Must compete in Annual Scholarship Competition
• Entering freshman engineering major
• Renewal: 3.0 GPA
*Cannot be combined with Leadership Scholarship.
