The Beatitudes
The beatitudes reveal to us eight qualities that bring God's blessing: meekness and mercy, poorness in spirit and purity of heart, mourning and hunger, peacemaking and persecution. Jesus highlighted these to offer both encouragement and instruction on living distinctly as his followers in a world with values much different from God's. As we study these qualities and integrate them into our lives, we will receive the blessing Jesus promised to his followers then and now. John Stott is one of the world's leading and most loved Bible teachers and preachers. In this guide you can explore Scripture under his guidance, enhancing your own in-depth study with insights gained from his years of immersion in God's Word.

David: Man After God's Own Heart
David--impetuous, sensitive, bold, poetic, compassionate, utterly human. What can we learn from this young warrior-king of long ago? And how could God call David a "man after his own heart" even though he was a "man of blood" and an adulterer? Though David sinned greatly, he also loved greatly. By observing and learning from David's character and action, we too can become God's kindred spirits, men and women "after God's own heart."

Elijah: Obedience in a Threatening World
It isn't always easy to serve our God in a culture that is alternately ambivalent and hostile toward him, especially when we ourselves are so flawed. We're not the first ones to face this challenge. In fact, Elijah--one of the most important prophets in history--faced the same struggle. Although he was outnumbered, misunderstood, insecure, and often fearful, he found power in obedience and prayer--and you can, too. Discover how you can obey and follow God even with your weaknesses.

Ephesians
Have you noticed how sometimes you have a story in the back of your mind that keeps coming up, even when you're talking about something else? In Ephesians, throughout its worship, prayers and instructions for living, Paul can't contain his joy and amazement at the larger story of God's plan to save us in Jesus the Messiah. These eleven studies from Tom Wright will help us see the significance of our role in God's grand narrative, and encourage us to live more fully as people who are lavishly loved by God.
